Nicole Logan, LPCC #8875

As a therapist, my intention is to help you sort through the things that are difficult right now while offering a safe place where you can be open and honest without fear of judgment. Together we will explore negative patterns in your life, work through any barriers, and move towards healing, growth, and change. I utilize a client-centered approach, in which we work together, with adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, and life transitions.

My name is Nicole Logan and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Purdue University and a Masters of Science degree in Counselor Education at Indiana University. My training was focused on Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused Therapies.

Path to Healing:

As children, we often learn coping strategies to deal with negative situations that are no longer helpful as adults. These and other issues, while painful and sometimes confusing, can help us to see where change is needed.

Together we can determine the life you would like to experience and create new patterns that promote changes toward your goals. With mindfulness-based practices and Cognitive Behavioral techniques, we can change the thoughts and behaviors that contribute to the negative feelings you are experiencing and heal patterns of anxiety and depression.

I enjoy empowering my clients to take control of their life, make peace with their past, learn to communicate their needs, and live their best life.

Anxiety:

Anxiety is a normal emotion, but worry can become a problem when it is uncontrollable and causes distress or trouble functioning in multiple areas of your life.

Restlessness, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, and sleep disturbances can be experienced by those who struggle with anxiety.

Many people have experienced anxiety for so long, that they think it will never go away. But by practicing relaxation skills and changing thoughts, you can gain control over your fears and live the life you’ve always wanted.

Depression, Grief, & Life Transitions:

Especially during this difficult time, many people are struggling with sadness and overwhelm. If depressed, you may experience a loss of interest, sadness, appetite issues, sleep issues, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and feelings of worthlessness or guilt.

Depression and sadness can also accompany grief and major life transitions. Loss is a normal part of our lives and it is helpful to be able to talk through your memories, thoughts, and feelings.

Having an objective empathetic therapist to listen is invaluable. Focusing on the present moment, incorporating positive experiences in your day, and changing your thoughts can improve your quality of life and decrease symptoms.

Relationship Issues:

We have relationships with almost everyone - parents, kids, sisters, brothers, friends, co-workers, bosses, spouses, and partners. Every client I see has issues that come up with someone.

Communication is definitely the key to having positive relationships with the ones we love. Working on active communication, learning to communicate our needs, and practicing ways to “discuss” instead of arguing are the main ways I work with my clients on building positive relationship skills.

Most adolescents I’ve worked with have struggled with a relationship with an adult in their lives. Learning communication skills was essential to their progress in therapy.

Evidence-Based Practices:

I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices that best supports you individually, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness practice.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: is an effective way to help with identifying negative thought patterns and irrational beliefs. By identifying these negative patterns and core beliefs, we can reframe these thoughts into more positive ones, therefore changing our feelings and behaviors.

Solution Focused Therapy: is a treatment approach that empowers clients to use their strengths and focus on solutions when addressing life’s problems.

Mindfulness practice: mindfulness is a skill that helps us stay in the present, without interpretation or judgement. It helps to relax the body and mind, decreasing stress and anxiety. Mindfulness may include imagery, guided meditation, and deep breathing exercises.

I provide individual therapy sessions for 50 minutes/ $150 per session and couples sessions for 50 minutes/ $170 per session. I would love to learn more about you and help support you on your journey to healing.
